Product characteristics

Greenmaker is a 99%-pure form (not contaminated with clay, quartz, felspar or mica) of a natural zeolite known as clinoptilolite. Its most important characteristic is the high water content. During the production of Greenmaker the water is completely boiled off, so the absorption capacity of the end product is very high.

Greenmaker is 100% natural and contains no additives. It is applied to the top layer of new and existing, pitches, greens, fairways and tees. Greenmaker is also suited to landscaping activities, such as lawn installation. Greenmaker’s exceptional added value is clear, based on the following characteristics:

  • Virtually ideal pH value (5.0) for grass development
  • Extremely high water absorption capacity
  • Extremely high K value, guaranteeing very good heat retention
  • Extremely high CEC value, minimising the extent to which fertilisers are flushed away
  • Optimal granular composition, meeting the standards of the United States Golf Association (USGA)

Not all natural zeolites are the same. European zeolites (from Turkey, Poland, Italy, Croatia and elsewhere) are of a different quality than the Greenmaker zeolite (which comes from southeast Asia). They are typically coarser and do not meet the USGA standards. Other characteristics – pH value, absorption capacity, K value and CEC value – are less attractive too.

“I have been working to improve grass for 25 years now. Only when I realised how effective zeolite application is, did I understand that the key to a world-class playing surface is the addition of this product.

But at the same time, not all zeolites are the same. After years of research we have managed to develop the perfect variant for soil structure. It is a zeolite from southeast Asia with the ideal characteristics and granular composition, which we first brought to market under the Greenmaker name in 2007. With Greenmaker we ensure the soil structure improves in a sustainable way. From football clubs to golf courses – the reactions have been enthusiastic. The result is quickly apparent and –more importantly – structural.”
